The arm of a Rod Lok Anchor is held in place by jamming the interfacing surfaces between the lug slot. The first engagement depresses the metal surfaces slightly; if reengaged more than once, the lock is weakened. The inventive Spring Locking Clip will hold in position a completely loosened anchor.

Refractory anchor arms are sometimes knocked over after installation just prior to a refractory cement pour. It may be from an errant work boot, something hitting it by mistake or the physical impact of cement being dropped on the arms from a wheelbarrow above.

The spring steel clip and serrated lug will cost around $2.00 to ensure a secure anchor positioning.
Iluka Geraldton, Western Australia have adopted this new solution in areas where anchors lying flat during a shutdown pour became a dangerous and recurring problem.
